Jack Bicknell reign at Louisiana Tech began when he was hired as the 30th head coach in Tech history. He preceded to lead the 1999 Bulldogs to the school's first Associated Press Top 25 ranking and an upset victory over eventual Southeastern Conference Champion Alabama.
In 2001, he led the Bulldogs to the WAC Conference Title in their first year ever in the WAC Conference and they played in the 2001 Humanitarian Bowl.
Playing Experience: He played for his dad at Boston College. He was the center for quarterback and Heisman winner Doug Flutie. He anchored the offensive line in the 1982 Tangerine Bowl; the 1983 Liberty Bowl; and the 1984 Cotton Bowl.
Coaching: 1997-98: Louisiana Tech offensive line coach. 1999-present: Head Coach, Louisiana Tech.
Family: He is married to the forner Helen Fogarty of Whitinsville, Mass. He has three children in John (11), Katelyn (8), and Alyse (4). |
