"Our main focus has been on the offensive line, because we're breaking in some new players there," said Cain, who has four scholarship offers, including one from Louisiana Tech. "The new guys have been coming along.
"Last week, we scrimmaged Bastrop and they're a very good team. Not to take anything away from them, but I was a little shocked at how good they are. We have Rayville in the jamboree and they have (DT and ULM commit) Gerrand Johnson. I talk to him frequently and I know that their defense is really good. They have a lot of athletes and are not a team to be taken lightly."
What's the latest recruiting news on Cain?
"Every school that has offered me is a great school," he said. "I talk to Coach (Rob) Likens from Louisiana Tech a lot. He coaches the wide receivers and I like him. Right now, I'm simply loving the recruiting process, and I think that a lot of different schools might offer me in the future.
"I was looking to commit before the playoffs begin, but now I'm not sure. There's a definite chance that Chuck, Michael, and I could all sign with the same school. Michael is my best friend and we went to junior high together. He's a very good cornerback and a great addition to our team (after transferring from Richwood). We're going to try to find the school that's best for all three of us. It's especially important to Chuck that we stay together in college."
Cain spends most of the time at running back on the high school level, but is expected to make the transition to slot receiver in college.
