Cyril Crutchfield, the new coach at L.B. Landry High School, was Beau Fitte's mentor for three years at South Plaquemines High School and here's what Crutchfield had to say about Fitte and a couple of other current Bulldogs that are South Plaquemines graduates:
"Beau is a physical specimen," said Crutchfield. "He's 6-foot-1, 215 pounds, and a 4.4 guy. He has tremendous explosion and his demeanor is tremendous as well. Beau's a speed rusher who will come at you off the edge.
"He has a great combination of speed, agility, and quickness. Beau's decision about college - choosing Louisiana Tech - was made easier by the fact that he can play with his brother, Lyle Fitte, up there."
Crutchfield had similarly glowing reports about Lyle Fitte and Seth Ancar.
"Lyle is a tremendous person, first and foremost," said Crutchfield. "He was a 4.0 student in high school and he's on the Dean's List at Tech. His work ethic is second-to-none -- bar none.
"He's the type of guy that a coach has to keep him out of the weight room - has to run him out of the weight room because he's in there so much. Lyle is meticulous with his work ethic and he's always trying to fine tune his game. He steadily works to improve his ability."
Ancar will be a freshman this fall at Tech.
"This young man has a non-stop motor," said Crutchfield of Ancar. "He's relentless, very aggressive, and when the whistle blows he'll be somewhere around the football. He brings a lot to the table and his mindset is that he's an assassin."
