Hunter is one of the top players in North Louisiana and one of the top cornerbacks in the State of Louisiana. He has offers from ULM, McNeese State, and SLU. "I'm geeting the most calls from Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Auburn, Tulane, and Baylor," he said. "Tulane is close to offering and a coach at Mississippi State told me that I was in the top two on their board for cornerbacks."
Richwood got knocked out in the second round by E.D. White last year, 7-6. "We've been close the last two years" explained Hunter. "We just have to make the big plays to win games. I gained a lot of experience and confidence last year."
Richwood must replace defensive tackle LaCraig Brown and thei entire linebacking corp. The Rams return three defensive backs, led by Hunter, and most of their offensive starters. They open the season with Vicksurg High School out of Mississippi.
Hunter also finished another successful basketball season. Richwood lost in the semi-finals to district rival Carroll.
Hunter uses his basketball skills and his 6'0" frame on the football field. He is able to go up against taller receivers and make plays on the ball. He is a player to watch for 2010.
