One to Watch: 2011 Louisiana Quarterback

All State Quarterback Paul Michael Garner returns for OCS in 2010.

Paul Michael Garner was named 1st Team All-State in Louisiana's Class 1A. After throwing for over 2,200 yards and 27 touchdowns, Garner comes back for his senior season.

It helps to have weapons, and Garner will welcome back Class of 2012 wide receiver Mark Laird. Laird caught 54 passes for over 1100 yards and 14 touchdowns. Basically half of Garner's yardage and touchdowns were passes thrown to Laird. The 6'2" Laird was also named first team All-State.

Garner does more than just pass the ball. As a junior, Garner ran for 7 touchdowns, which was good for second on the team. OCS loses senior back Colby Allen to graduation. Colby Webb, a 6'0" 180-lb. freshman and Josh Greer, a 5'8" sophomore combined for 150 yards rushing last season and could share ball carrying duties in 2010. The duo also combined for nearly 300 yards receiving and three receiving toucdowns.

Paul Michael Garner will look to lead OCS deeper in the playoffs as a senior. He has the supporting cast to get it done. OCS fell to eventual semifinalist St. John High School in the second round in 2009.

OCS was a young team in 2009, but they finished strong. The Eagles were 4-1 in district play and their junior varsity team was 4-0.

Keep an eye out for 2011 Quarterback Prospect Paul Michael Garner this season.
