Justin Ellis Talks Tech

Louisiana Tech Head Coach Derek Dooley added his 21st commitment when big Justin Ellis pledged last week.

"I've been thinking about committing to Tech for a while," said Ellis. "They offered about three weeks ago. It was right before the bowl game."

Louisiana Tech was the only WAC school to win a bowl game as they beat Northern Illinois in the Independence Bowl. L'Damian Washington said he was excited to see Tech bowling in his hometown. Matt Sheppard, from Marshall, TX, made the short trip over to Shreveport.

The game made a big impact on Justin Ellis too. "I have been talking to Coach Hines all year," explained Ellis. "I had offers from Arkansas State, ULM, ULL, UCA, SLU, and Northwestern State."

Ellis said he will start out at guard. "I'm 6'2" and 340 pounds. I will start out at guard, explained Ellis. "I played a little defensive tackle. I played defense mostly on fourth downs and goal line situations. I had twenty-something tackles."

Ellis is fully qualified with a 2.6 GPA and an ACT score of 18. He will officially visit Tech on January 16th.
