For as little as $4 a game, you can help cheer the Dunkin’ Dawgs and the Lady Techsters on to victory.
Louisiana Tech
basketball is going to be much improved this season, and so are the ticket prices. In an effort to attract more fans to the games, the prices for season tickets have been dropped significantly.
Eric Buskirk, Associate Athletics Director – External Affairs at Louisiana Tech, expressed just how great of a deal Tech is offering. “Most prices have gone down,” said Buskirk. “It really is the most affordable deal in town. Both teams have dramatically improved and if you buy a combo ticket, you can see them for $4 a game.”
If you are just interested in one team, you can buy a season ticket for $60, which is $5 a game. Long time Tech basketball supporter Dwayne Woodard wants fellow fans to understand just how important it is to buy season tickets.
“It is a steal to be able to get a good SEASON TICKET seat for the price of $60 - for 12 home games plus and exhibition - that's $5 a ticket,” said Woodard. “Season ticket sales are the BACKBONE of any successful program and if we want to properly fund TECH basketball; then people have got to purchase season tickets.”
Although the Thomas Assembly Center holds over 7,500 people, it is not necessary to fill it to the top. “The unique thing about the TAC is that you don't have to have 5,000 people in the seats to make it an intimidating place to play,” explained Woodard. “2,500 to 3,000 TECH fans can be very intimidating in that building and VERY LOUD. All we need is 500 to 750 students each and every home game to get a good base to work with.”
It will take season ticket holders and students together to build a great support base. Fans really need to come out and see both of our teams as they re-establish themselves as national programs.
If you look at all the really good programs,” said Woodard. “Majors and "so-called mid-majors", the one common thread with these programs is HOME CROWD support, especially from the students. Even in our own conference, Utah St and Nevada most notably, student support and attendance make it very hard to win on the road.”
The Thomas Assembly Center is a hard place for opposing teams to play. Let’s make it even harder by making it at least half full for every home game. That’s the best way to help the visiting team comes up 100% empty.
