Bulldogs sign Arrez Henderson

Arrez Henderson will sign with Louisiana Tech University. The 6'0" guard is the second high school player to sign with the Bulldogs this spring.

Henderson told the Cincinnati Enquirer that it was a difficult process. "It's been frustrating, people asking me if I signed yet," said the Holmes senior. I should be able to play there, and I won't have to ride the bench," he said. Henderson led Holmes County High School in Covington, KY to the state championship game and two straight final fours. Henderson is known as "The Eraser" because of his lock down abilities. Not known as a pure point guard or shooting guard, Henderson can score and defend well enough to find a spot in the lineup. Louisiana Tech coaches recruited him as a point guard. "I'll have to work on ball-handling and shooting," he told the Enquirer. Henderson is similar to former Arkansas star Brandon Dean. He is strong enough to shut people down on defense and athletic enough to get in the lane and finish. Henderson was named the Northern Kentucky Player of the Year by the Enquirer and chose Tech over North Carolina A&T, Southern Indiana, and Northern Kentucky. Kentucky also offered Henderson a spot as a preferred walk on. Holmes County Head Coach David Henley said he felt like Henderson wanted to go to Louisiana Tech all along. "Miami(OH) and Western Kentucky were both coming in late. Miami had one spot left and the new staff at WKU had a few spots to fill," Henley explained. "Arrez wanted to explore all of his options, but both Miami and WKU were early in the process. He felt good about Tech and probably wanted to go there all along."
