Techster Signees Earn Awards

Jasmine Bendolph was named the 6A Player of the Year by the Alabama Spors Writers Association and Kiara Young recieved the same award for 3A.

Jasmine Bendolph is a 5'6" point guard from Davidson High School in Mobile. Kiara Young is a 5'9" guard from Lauderdale County High School. Both players will be joined tonight by fellow Techster signee DeAngela Sword, a 5'8" guard from Carver High in Montgomery, in the Mississippi versus Alabama All Star game in Pelham.

Bendolph and Young join current Techsters Adrienne Johnson, Whitney Jones, Shanavia Dowdell, and Tiawana Pringle as players who have recieved state player of the year honors.

Pringle was named 2006 Miss Basketball in the State of Mississippi by the Clarion Ledger, Dowdwell was named 2006 Miss Basketball in the State of Alabama, and Jones was a two time Gatorade Louisiana Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Johnson was named the 2007 Gatorade Louisiana Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
