Dooley Press Conference

Derek Dooley is the new Athletic Director at Louisiana Tech University. BleedTechBlue was there to hear what he had to say about his new position.

"As a representative of all our coaches, I am excited about elevating our respective programs. I am convinced Dr. Reneau is committed to our department." "The #1 challenge at any school is revenue. I will prioritize the budget with an aggressive campaign to improve infrastructure and facilities." On working two jobs: "The key is the right structure. I was surprised Dr. Reneau came to me. I was flattered. I didn't jump into it, I wanted to make sure that Tech and the football team wouldn't suffer. I became convinced that this was a great oppurtunity for me, the department, and the university. On long term goals: Go read Tech 2020, the goal is set. Fundraising and Marketing are the biggest issues in any athletic department. Fundraising is not just asking for money, it is inspiring people to where they want to give you money."
