First Half Notes

  • Texas came out in a 2-3 zone and Fresno State struggled making just 1-of-8 shots early.

  • Fresno State took its first lead 9-6 off a Allen Huddleston three-point shot. The Bulldogs made three 3-pointers in the first half.

  • Tanner Giddings was 2-of-3 from the field. His first bucket gave the Bulldogs its largest lead 11-6 at the 12:26 mark.

  • Texas used a 7-0 run to take a 17-13 lead that the Longhorns wouldn't relinquish until there was less than two minutes remaining in the half.

  • Jerry Brown tied the game at 23 with his first bucket of the game. Fresno State forced a steal on the subsequent possession and Texas was called for goal tending on Garrett Johnson's fast break layup give the ‘Dogs a 25-23 lead.

  • The Bulldogs failed to score a basket in the final 1:50 in the game and were called for two traveling calls on its last two possessions.

  • Texas' Javan Felix led all scorers with eight points. Kevin Olekaibe scored five to lead Fresno State.
