"I went to camp at Lamar and they seem interested," said Devin Eaglin
. "They're planning to come watch me this year. I'm also hearing from Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State and Rice
, in addition to a few Ivy League schools, such as Princeton, Columbia and Harvard.
"I have a 3.9 grade point average and I'm planning to major in physical therapy. I scored a 23 on the ACT."
Eaglin is also garnering interest from local program McNeese State.
"McNeese has a really good program. They came and watched me during the spring," he said. "They wanted me to come to their camp, but I wasn't able to make it."
As a junior, Eaglin was a workhorse, grinding out 1,361 yards on 215 carries with 19 touchdowns. He galloped for 194 yards and three scores in the Rams' shootout (55-54) win over Crowley and LSU commit Davante' Bourque.
"I'm looking forward to the Crowley game again this year," said Eaglin. "It helps with motivation when you're facing a team with a good player like Bourque."
Eaglin, who gashed Iowa's defense for a season-high 233 yards, benches 325 pounds, squats 470, cleans 245 and incline-presses 250.
