Tollette George, or "Tonka," as he is more widely-known, drove Karr to the Class 4A state finals in 2010 and he's found a collegiate destination at Alcorn State University.
"They offered me and two other (Karr) players on National Signing Day," said George. "I like Alcorn State, because they run the same offense as Edna Karr. Also, the head coach (Melvin Spears), is a good coach, and I think we're going to win the SWAC championship.
"He got the job as head coach a few weeks ago and I signed with them today (Saturday). It feels great to be become a Brave. They are purple and gold, so I'm still going to have that purple and gold pride from Karr!
"I went on the tour around the campus and the stadium is pretty nice. I like it and I'll have fun out here. My mom loves it! She is very happy for me and wants the best for me."
George, who played QB at Karr, will be joined by teammates Devon Francois and Detrell Wright at Alcorn State.
"My two other teammates and I are going to ball and work hard on and off the field...but academics first!" said George.
Looks like Tonka is shifting into overdrive.
