With offers from Louisiana Tech
, and SMU
; Malcolm Pichon
seemed to be just getting started with his list of offers. Things died down over the course of the season, but late December and January mean one thing in high school football circles: recruiting.
just called this week," said Pichon. "I had talked to them over the summer and they were checking in on me. They wanted to know my interest in them and they said they would be sending someone down. While Pichon just restarted the conversation with Oklahoma State, he said he has not heard as much recently from SMU.
Pichon has visits set up with Louisiana Tech on January 7th and Memphis on January 14th. He named Louisiana Tech his leader back in November and he stays in close contact with the staff. Defensive Line Coach Stan Eggen recently dropped by to pay a visit.
"It went good," explained Pichon. "We talked about the school and the defense. We talked about what he's looking for and how I fullfill that. Their looking for a big body that can move, get off the double teams, and rush the passer. I get a lot of practice going up against double-teams and sometimes triple-teams."
Pichon had over 100 tackles for Salmen, who finished 10-2 after falling to O.P. Walker in the 4A quarterfinals.
Check back in after January 7th for a report on Pichon's visit to Louisiana Tech.
Malcolm Pichon is the big fish in a very big pond when it comes to recruiting defensive tackles. College coaches are casting their nets in South Louisiana hoping to land the 330 pound big man. Pichon recently had an in home visit with one of his favorites. He also recently heard from a Big 12 school.
